Helpful Dog Tips

Too many dog owners think that dogs are accustomed to or even prefer the cold. For most dogs, that just isn't so. First, know your breed's attributes. And for dogs that aren't built for the cold, a doggie coat to keep them warm and dry is a must. The coat should extend from the chest area over the hips. If you live in a windy area, an wind resistant outer shell is a plus.

Lepus Whippets
Lepus Whippets is a CKC Registered Kennel that is owned and operated by Roberta and James Jamieson and their daughter, Kim Green. They live and work in Codrington, Ontario, Canada. Our little prince, Siegfried, came to us from Lepus. The link above is to a whippet page on the Lepus site which includes a pic of Siegfried and his two siblings, Coco and Truffles. By the way, lepus is latin for "rabbit." Why the name Lepus? Well, in addition to being used for Rag Racing, whippets were also used for "coursing" rabbit.
